Hopedale Medical Complex Recognized with National 5-Star Rating for Rural Healthcare Excellence

Hopedale, IL – Hopedale Medical Complex has earned a 5-Star Rating from the National Rural Rating System (NRRS) for the second consecutive quarter of 2026, a national honor recognizing rural hospitals that demonstrate exceptional quality, patient experience, and community impact.
The NRRS 5-Star designation places the hospital among a select group of rural healthcare organizations that consistently deliver high-quality outcomes while serving communities where healthcare access remains critical.
“Rural healthcare is deeply personal. Every patient interaction matters, and we are proud to provide care that is both clinically excellent and rooted in compassion,” said Emily Whitson, COO. “This recognition reflects the dedication and resilience of our entire team.”
NRRS evaluates hospitals using validated performance measures drawn from nationally recognized patient experience and quality data. Hospitals achieving a 5-Star rating demonstrate strong results across multiple indicators, including reliability, patient-centered care, and service quality.
Brock Slabach, Chief Operating Officer of the National Rural Health Association, highlighted the importance of rural hospitals receiving national recognition.
“Rural hospitals serve as lifelines for their communities. A 5-Star NRRS rating reflects not only strong clinical performance, but the leadership, teamwork, and perseverance required to deliver high-quality care in complex rural environments.”
